About me
I was born in Paraguay, a beautiful country in the heart of South America.
Ever since I was a child, I love the arts.
I first fell in love with ballet, later I discovered the theater. I studied and worked as an actress for 15 years until I decided to leave Paraguay in 2011 and start a new chapter in my life here in the United States where I did some acting in small theaters near me.
Painting has always been a favorite hobby of mine, starting with the walls in my bedroom (as most of us have done).
Later I would paint the furniture in my house, backpacks and tee shirts. Pretty much anything I felt need some color.
My first love is and alway will be Snoopy. The love between Charlie Brown and his dog is where I got a lot of my inspiration.
Several years ago, I saw a painting from the American Artist Jeanine Brown and I was fascinated with her style and colors. I was very fortunate to find her and take some of her classes. I ended up taking many classes from Jeanine. That is where I discovered the world of collage, acrylics and many other fascinating techniques. During this period of learning, I had a tragedy in my family which affected me very deeply. It was at that moment that I decided to come out of my comfort zone and show my paintings to other people.
In September of 2017, with lots of love and fear, I decided to do an exhibit at an art gallery called EXPRESIONES, in Asuncion, Paraguay. The exhibit was called “ALUCYNACIONES" where I
received much appreciation and accolades . I will alway be grateful to Santiago Abente, the owner of this gallery, for giving me the opportunity to present my art to the Paraguayan public.
From that time forward, I have been recognized for the techniques, vibrant and happy colors of my artwork.
A LITTLE ABOUT MY TECHNIQUES:
All my art starts with collage. These collages are made with paper primarily painted and designed by me. I cut and paste pieces of paper onto canvas, wood or paper. From there I start to give life to this world of colors. It’s a little like looking through a kaleidoscope. Other times I collage on a predetermined idea.
I basically use acrylic paints, colored pencils, water colors and crayons. I use toothpicks, forks, container lids and stamps made by me, molding paste, and anything recycled that can be useful to give detail and movement to my designs.
MI HISTORIA
Nací en el corazón de Sudamerica, en el hermoso país llamado Paraguay.
Desde chica me gustaron las artes. Primero el ballet y luego el teatro. Estudié y trabajé como actriz por 15 años, hasta que en el 2011decidí empezar un nuevo capítulo de mi vida en Estados Unidos de América, donde también incursioné en pequeños teatros de la zona donde vivo.
Pintar siempre fue uno de mis pasatiempos, primero pintando las paredes de la casa como lo hacen todos los niños. Luego los muebles, bolsones y camisetas.
Mi primer amor fue y sigue siendo Snoopy, por el cual muchas de mis pinturas al comienzo fueron acerca de este personaje y su familia.
Hace un par de años ví unas pinturas de la artista americana Jeanine Brown, y me quedé maravillada con su estilo. Tuve la suerte de que ella daba clases y empecé a asistir a algunas de ellas, que al final se convirtieron en muchas clases.. Fue así que entré al mundo del collage, acrílicos y un montón de técnicas fascinantes.
Durante ese tiempo de aprendizaje, una tragedia familiar me afectó profundamente, y fue entonces que decidí que no hay tiempo que perder y quise mostrar mi arte a otras personas.
En Setiembre del 2017 decidí con mucha energía y miedo, exponer en la Galería EXPRESIONES en Asunción, Paraguay. La exposición se llamó “ALUCYNACIONES”, donde con placer, recibí muchos halagos y reconocimiento de la gente. Agradezco a Santiago Abente, dueño de la galería, por darme la oportunidad de salir al mundo.
UN POCO DE MI TÉCNICA:
Todas mis obras están hechas con collages. Todos hechos sobre papel primeramente pintados y dibujados por mí. Corto y pego pedazos de estos papeles sobre canvas, madera o papel y empiezo a darle vida a ese mundo de colores. Es como mirar por un caleidoscopio.
Otras veces hago lo mismo con mis papeles pero con una idea ya elegida previamente.
Uso básicamente pinturas acrílicas, lápices de colores, acuarela y crayones.
Utilizo palitos escarbadientes, tenedores, tapitas, sellos hechos por mí misma, pasta de moldear y cualquier cosa reciclada que pueda servirme para darle detalles y movimiento a mis obras.
